A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not well-managed. What are the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world? Do you think that the benefits of tourism outweigh its drawbacks?

With the burgeoning of globalization, it is a fact that there are some countries that depends only on travel industry to generate revenue. There are several pros and cons of tourism in the contemporary era that are debatable.
However
, in my opinion benefits of travelling overshadow its drawback due to certain reasons, which will be discussed in the subsequent paragraphs. Discussing the advantages of the leisure industry, the foremost advantage is growth in employment of respective country.
This
is because the travelling sector is interlinked with so many small industries and it can create jobs for many people. By
this
I mean that a person who is travelling is not only to do the excursion but
also
utilize some other facilities.
For example
, he resides in a hotel, utilize the services of a tour guide, travel in a local transport, take meals and refreshments etc. Another benefit of travelling is positive impact on the country’s economy. The reason behind
this
is the expenses of travelling done to avail services while travelling.
Furthermore
, people make purchases of the goods available in that state and take these things as a souvenir.
For instance
, an individual, who is on travel have to utilize the hotel accommodation, taxi services, restaurants, and
also do
Suggestion
also makes
also does
shopping for himself or for their family.
Hence
,
this
will create a revenue, employment and increase economy.
On the contrary
, tourism has certain disadvantages too.
Firstly
, the public that comes to enjoy, sometimes creates too much mess by spreading the waste material.
This
is due to the consumption of large amount of snacks, chips and drinks.
Furthermore
, the natural beauty of the particular place destroys due to a huge number of people.
For example
, kids are innocent and they like to pluck flowers, so these naughty children destroy these natural orchids. Another drawback is change in the cultural value of the specific region. The reason for
this
is a large number of foreigners, with the different cultural values, mingle at one place and share their views, ideas and behaviours.
This
may create a great impact on culture of residence.
For example
, In Pakistan, the Muslims do not drink alcohol products, but foreigners who are non-Muslims whenever comes to Pakistan wants to drink alcohol in front of all.
This
is a normal thing for them, but
this
may impact negatively on the new generation.
Thus
, there are disadvantages of travelling, but these disadvantages can be minimized by applying certain protocols. To conclude the topic, it can be commented that several countries revenue is generated via service industry.
However
, there are certain advantages like a boost in the economy and employment, which surpass the disadvantages of tourism in many ways.
Hence
, The Government should set rules and regulations for the travellers and visitors so that drawbacks can be minimized.
