A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. “Nothing is more deceitful than appearances”, Jane Austen’s main moral lesson in her famous novel “The Pride and The Prejudice”. It is conspicuous that many people nowadays tend to judge others according to their social status, amount of earnings, and wealth. Honesty, perseverance, ethics, and kindness are some old fashioned virtues that no longer seem essential. From my personal perspective, I strongly disagree on judging others according to their social ranks for a plethora of reasons.
