Nowadays, the chauvinist and patriarchal views into the family's management are almost totally overcome, at least in well-off realities and developed countries. To
this
extent, the young adults and children have acquired bigger respect and attention. Particularly, someone believes that children should chose everything for themselves, while others deem that
this
could bring to individualism. Personally, I partially agree with the
first
idea and in
this
essay I will suggest some food for thoughts. One of the main reasons is that if children are free to choose for themselves, they might
do
engage in
make
up with complaints and live happier. What I mean is that they could be more relaxed in taking care of themselves and more confident, acquiring
also
self-control.
Moreover
, making own choices means to
also
accept all relating responsibilities behind
such
decisions. In details,
this
entails children to be more conscious and to grow up, knowing that every choice could cost some drawbacks with which they need to learn how to deal with.
On the other hand
, we could not forget that they are still children and might not have
such
awareness, typical of adults.
In
Suggestion
With
details, children cannot be already prepared to face up with important issues and
therefore
they always need to be guided in their choices. To sum up, leaving children the possibility to choose for minor issues could be useful to make them develop a partial independence, that
however
couldn't survive without the aids and supports of parents. In my view, children should gain a sort of independence through the everyday life's choices, but parents have to be always there, ready to help them.
