More and more people want to by clothes, cars and other products from well-known brands. What are the reasons? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?
Society has become increasingly materialistic. People are more attracted to expensive brands. Desire for buying new clothes, cars and other expensive products have been rising because of the advertising.
This
essay will discuss how advertising manipulates people, and I personally think that it will result in more misuse
and can cause damage to the environment.
To commence with, the new generation persuaded that buying a product will make them happier by advertising. The main aim of advertising is to sell brand image and nowadays some company became the status of wealth such
as Armani and BMW. As a consequence, people spend money on an unnecessary things. Today's latest will become tomorrow's outdated. Consumers follow trend and resulted in a misuse
of money. For example
, The Business magazine recently reported that 60% of consumers change their mobile within a half year to stay up-to-date, but companies nowadays just change the design and packaging.
Consequently
, more new product people buy old one becomes misuse
. misuse
of old product often causes environmental harm. Suggestion
Misuse
In other words
, a heavy plastic packaging of products cannot be recycled. Moreover
, e-waste
of electronic material is causing damage to land pollution, it is because the area where they dumped became a city of misuse
. For instance
, I saw a documentary on e-waste
and that illustrated the area in Mumbai where all e-waste
has collected, now have mountains of e-waste
.
In conclusion, people are more and more attracted to spend money in an unnecessary branded material. I think the advertising is a major cause for manipulation of people, and the drawbacks of this
development lead to damage environment. Thus
, people should buy only necessary things in their life.Submitted by Raj Patel on
