Without capital punishment (the death penalty) our lives are less secure and crimes of violence increase. Capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Death is the highest form of punishment inflicted upon those guilty, usually, of murder.
Such
harsh practices are necessary for the reduction of crime rates and to send a clear message to offenders that violence is intolerable by law. Though there may be downsides to
this
system, I strongly agree that without it, we would be more vulnerable to violence.
To begin
with, people may consider death an unsuitable punishment for various reasons. The strongest argument they put forth is offering criminals an opportunity to redeem themselves and helping them re-socialize would make way for better humans. Everybody, even those guilty of inhuman acts, deserves chances that allow them to turn over a new leaf.
Also
, there exists a minimal yet significant risk of innocents falsely charged with
this
irreversible penalty.
On the other hand
, as rigorous punishments are most effective in instilling fear in others who are on the wrong side of the law, it is deemed needed to decrease wrongdoings.
In addition
to ensuring that lawbreakers will refrain from committing
further
felonies fearing for their lives, it
also
establishes the credibility of the country’s

judicial
system in the eyes of its citizens. Hanging terrorists,
for example
, would drastically control the work of
such
organizations.
Moreover
, the government spends a large sum of the national budget

for
the maintenance of prisoners that could,
instead
, be used for the general welfare of the nation. In conclusion, based on the above discussed points, I firmly believe that even though it is frowned upon by some, regards to public safety and the need for fewer acts of violence necessitates the imposition of capital punishments.
