Currently there is a trend towards the use of alternative forms of medicine. However, at best these methods are ineffective, and at worst they may be dangerous. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

Alternative
forms of medicine are gradually gaining popularity. Many believe that these types of treatments are not only useless, but
also
hazardous to the patients.
Although
there are strong arguments on both sides, I strongly believe that these other types of therapeutic options have questionable
safety
and efficacy. One argument put forward by supporters of
alternative
medicine is that these therapies are based upon natural ingredients.
In other words
, they are free from
manufactured
Suggestion
manufacturing
chemicals, which makes them free of side effects. They argue that any form of chemical
that is
manufactured in a laboratory can't be safe for human consumption, but
alternative
treatment methods do not contain
such
elements.
For example
, traditional Chinese herbal therapies claim to contain only herbs and plants and
therefore
are safe for medical use.
However
, there are many arguments in favour of the dangers posed by
alternative
forms of treatment.
To begin
with, There is no scientific way to know for sure if these therapies work. Modern medicine relies on extensive scientific research in the form of randomized controlled trials to determine the
safety
and effectiveness of a drug.
On the other hand
,
alternative
therapeutic modalities do not undergo
such
rigorous testing.
Also
, there is concern about the real contents of these medicines. It is believed that to potentiate the efficacy of the drug, some manufacturers add dangerous ingredients
such
as steroids and heavy metals, which are injurious to health.
For instance
, lead found in some homeopathic medicines, if used for a long, can lead to kidney failure.
This
highlights the
safety
and regulatory concerns about
alternative
therapies. In conclusion, it is abundantly clear that in the absence of solid clinical research and a clear understanding of the composition of
alternative
therapies,
such
modalities remain ineffective and dangerous. The government should regulate
this
industry to ensure patient
safety
.
