Nowadays, with the improvement of the economy, a growing number of people believe that private vehicles are both beneficial and necessary.
On the other hand
,
however
, there is a body of opinion which holds that automobiles present a mounting threat to the environment, and should be eliminated. In
this
essay I will examine both sides of the debate to seek a conclusion.
To begin
with, using private cars reflects the improvement in people’s living standards, as they strive to reach the economic level of more developed countries, some of which boast an average of two cars per family. Many
also
hold the view that a personal vehicle makes their lives more convenient, as they can use it to commute to work in comfort without waiting for buses or trains.
Moreover
, some would argue that a family vehicle is necessary for leisure travel, since it can access places which public transportation systems do not reach.
On the other hand
, the growing car ownership imposes a damaging effect on the environment, increasing pollutants
such
as PM2.5 which cause breathing diseases, as well as greenhouse
gases which
Accept comma addition
gases, which
contribute to global warming.
In addition
, personal transportation in the hands of inexperienced drivers heightens the risk of accidents, and city dwellers’ sleep is disturbed by noise pollution due to excessive horn use.
Furthermore
, one person’s convenience leads to inconvenience for many, as more private vehicles create more traffic jams which slow public transportation and business deliveries. To summarize, there is no doubt that the excessive use of private vehicles leads to various forms of environmental damage. At the same time,
however
personal cars are seen by many people as convenient and even indispensable. In the final analysis,
therefore
, we can only conclude that the sooner electric self-driving cars replace the current technology, the healthier the world will be.
