Writing task 1: Write atleast 150 words and spend no more than 20 minutes on this task. You are new to the city and you would like to take your family out for a meal. Write a letter to your friend who is familiar with the city. In your letter: • Tell him or her about the occasion • Tell him or her about what kind of a restaurant you prefer • Ask him suitable recommendations

Dear Kamy, It's indeed nice to write to you after a long time and I hope you are doing well. As I told you, we have moved to Bangalore
last
month to join the new company. I am starting to enjoy the work and weather here.
However
, I haven't started exploring the city yet. With my parent's anniversary arriving in another two days, I would need your advice on finding the perfect restaurant for a celebration. They are usually fond of traditional cuisines, especially non-veg food of Chettinad style. It will be a real surprise for them to get
such
food in Bangalore. I am
also
planning to make them exchange rings to remember their wedding day, in a serene place with a beautiful garden. Doesn't it sound perfect and dreamy? I am so excited. I have a vague memory of you letting me know about one
such
restaurant, where even the entire hotel had
this
traditional atmosphere and food being wonderful. Could you please write me the choices available here? I will make the reservations right away upon your response. I know you will act immediately, you are
such
a charmer. Yours lovingly, Gowthami

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
