Genetic engineering is a dangerous trend. It should be limited. To what extent do you agree?
Genetic engineering is getting increasingly popular around the globe. The processing of hybrid
species
should be limited as it is said to be a life-threatening process. My view coincides with this
proposition for a number of reasons which I will discuss in upcoming paragraphs.
There is a myriad of arguments in favour of my stance. The most telling one lies in the fact that certain varieties of crops produced through this
method could cause serious problems to the individuals who ingest them. Not only, such
diseases could cause allergies, but these could also
become a major cause to take someone's life. For example
, many people these days face the problem to wheat allergy which is caused by ingesting the genetically engineered species
of wheat which sometimes become much severe that could result in the patient's death. As a result
, it is proved to be dangerous to use genetic engineering to produce profit-friendly species
.
Moreover
, various animals that are produced using rDNA technology have v
ery short term survival rate as compared to the wild Add an article
a
species
. This
is because certain mutations are caused in the body of certain creatures that might play a key role in reducing their life span. Resultantly, the production of new species
with better features is not advisable. To illustrate, dolly sheep was the first
sheep variety which was produced using this
technology and was not able to survive for more than a month.
To summarize, it has adverse effects not only on humans, but the species
produced by genetic engineering also
face deleterious impacts. Therefore
, I also
believe that the use of such
technology for our own profit should be avoided.Submitted by kirandeepkang1992 on
