 is a negative or a positive trend. Supermarkets have attracted many customers in recent years.

 has significantly affected small shops owners who heavily rely on

 business to provide them with a source of income. Building these supermarkets have reduced the number of regular customers who used to go to these local stores that are located near their homes and neighbourhoods. To illustrate, many vendors have reported that the sales of their stores have almost halved since the construction of hypermarkets.

 is considered to be the major problem associated with bigger markets.
However
, there are benefits and drawbacks to

 phenomenon. Regarding the advantages, supermarkets allow people to choose between different goods, compare prices and decide on their favourite brand. An advantage which is not offered by an ordinary shop.

, merchandise is displayed in an organized way that can help people go to the department that they want to go.

, a supermarket can be divided into many sections

 as fruits, vegetables and bakery. Despite the previously mentioned positives, there are many disadvantages as well. Perhaps the main one is that many merchants are forced to close their local shops due to the dwindling number of people who used to purchase from them, and

 may make many individuals out of work.

, many hypermarkets are located far away from residential areas.
Therefore
, people have to travel long distances to go there. In conclusion, a hypermarket may be a suitable choice for some people in terms of the unlimited goods and facilities but it can cause financial losses to many sellers and not be accessible to many people who live very far from them.
