Some people believe that capital punishment should not be used. Others, however, argue that it should be allowed for the most serious crimes.

Capital punishments are one of the cruellest punishments in the
world
, whose use is a topic of a huge debate. Capital
punishment
refers to the killing of a
person
for a
crime
that he or she performs. It is a widely used
punishment
in many middle east countries to
this
date. But elsewhere in the
world
people are divided on there opinion whether capital
punishment
should be used to make a
person
pay for there
crime
or not. On one side, there are people who believe that no matter how small or how big a
crime
is, the value of human life is very important.
Therefore
a
person
should be given any
punishment
for his or her
crime
but they should not be sentenced to capital
punishment
.
Also
, there are a few people who believe that no matter how bad a
crime
performed by a
person
is, everybody deserves a
second
chance to improve in their lives, so they should not be subjected to capital punishments and should be given a fair
second
chance to improve themselves. While on the other side, there are those who believe that people who perform extremely serious crimes
such
as terrorist attacks, rapes, etc should be hanged to death or should be penalized with capital
punishment
. In most of the countries around the
world
, capital punishments are rarely used as they involve killing of the
person
who performs the
crime
. But there are still a few countries in the
world
where people can be subjected to capital punishments if he or she performs a serious
crime
. In my opinion, the use of capital
punishment
should be used, but if and only if the
crime
performed by the
person
is extremely serious. Other than that capital
punishment
should not be used.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
