many television news programmes show pictures of events in the news which people find upsetting. While television has a duty to report important news, it should not bring disturbing images into people’s homes. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

News channels have the responsibility to report any significant news to their audience and it should be free of any violent pictures. I favour
this
stance and will state the reasons in
this
essay. Living in the era of the digital age, everyone has access to the internet where everyone can watch a variety of TV shows. Young children are usually smart enough to watch it as compared to adults. Reporting
such
stories with horrific pictures on the shows will have an impact on our upcoming generations that will lead to several issues later on their life.
Moreover
, they can imitate the actions seen in the illustrations shown on the news which can have devastating effects too. People are already dealing with other issues like poverty, anxiety and lack of the employment opportunities and if they constantly saw these kinds of reporting on their mainstream channels, it can lead people to attempt suicide due to the depression.
Thus
, reporting these sorts of news are not helping society to prosper. Despite these negative effects, there are some good consequences by showing
such
broadcasts which can have positive implications. On airing stories which include awful images can teach people a lesson and restrict them by doing any wrong deeds. The police force,
For instance
, killed two robbers during the failed attempt of the bank robbery and
this
story is all over the mainstream media for the whole day and if someone is planning to rob any institution in near future they might change their mind.
As a result
, it can change an individual’s mind in a positive way as well. To sum up, I am of the opinion that any show should be free of violent pictures because there are more negatives impacts
in contrast
with positive ones.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
