Space exploration costs tax payers an exorbitant money each year. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages and give your opinion.

Space
exploration costs taxpayers an exorbitant amount of
money
annually.
This
is because man will go through many lengths to learn, understand and experience many things from other lands and worlds to other species to other planets. The list is endless and so is the quest for knowledge. Knowing about where we live and how we interact with our worlds and finding ways to improve our existence and living experiences is why science is so intriguing. A major bone of contention is
space
exploration

since after the
first
man landed on the moon, there have been several other feats, funded by taxpayers and it is no small amount. In
this
essay, I will discuss why
this
quest for knowledge is both good and bad and whether I think we should continue. It cannot be argued that finding out new things or experiencing different worlds is a very expensive venture.
Space
study has somewhat become a pointer for bragging rights. It has become a race of who will be the
first
to discover something or land somewhere or anything else. The advantages are, it instils a national pride among citizens of "the winner". It
also
encourages young people to dream and believe that they can achieve anything because they have heroes and role models to look up to. It does wonders for everyone's psyche. Beyond that, the discoveries that have been made cannot be gainsaid. It makes all the
money
that is
invested by the labour market well worth it. In recent years, there have been arguments against
space
discovery as many believe that the research is not yielding results fast enough and that it is tantamount to wastage because of the funds that are invested. People believe that these monies being spent to discover outside earth can be put to better use for people on earth. It could be used to improve healthcare, education, infrastructure and
also
fund other research topics that are more obviously beneficial to man, especially those which the results can be gotten in much less time than
space
expedition. I opine that

the benefits far outweigh any drawbacks. As humans on earth, we are doing just fine. Only a percentage of taxpayers
money
goes into
space
exploration. Every year, a budget is drawn based on the needs of various sectors.
In addition
, these monies are
also
allocated and work is done to improve said sectors and the sectors. There's so much more to learn about the outer world, we should not stop just because it costs a lot of
money
. Especially since we can afford it. It is not wise to live in a world and limit ourselves to the knowledge of just that world. There's so much more and we should keep striving to learn about it.
