WEALTHY COUNTRIES SHOULD ACCEPT MORE REFUGEES AND PROVIDE THEM WITH BASIC ASSISTANCE, SUCH AS FOOD AND HOUSING. TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?

Nowadays, armed conflicts and wars are transversal problems. The consequence of them is the exit of an amazing number of
people
outside of their
countries
looking for a place where feeling alive: they are called
refugees
. For
this
reason, there is no doubt that
refugees
crisis implies being solidary facing their neccessities from a global common perspective. On the one hand, it is a moral responsibilty to assist needy
people
because they are not only
people
who need help but
also
are they suffering because of the uncertainty of their own future. It is not fair to deny
people
, who live in a horrible place surrounded by misery and ruins, a better life because we must be conscious we have only been luckier to not to be born there. For
this
reason, in my opinión,
refugees
should be provide of everything they could need by wealthy
countries
as long as their state economy can support it.
On the other hand
it is argued that helping
refugees
cannot only consist in giving them basic assistance during an indefinite period of time, but
also
a way to make a living. If
refugees
have a source of incomes, the social spending Will decrease and
this
avoids generating differences in treatment with the local population who have to pay high taxes to support it.
Furthermore
, there are those who believe that it is important to keep a stable ratio among foreign and local
people
in order to not to create a culture shock. Taking everything into account I strongly believe that wealthy
countries
should accept more
refugees
if it can be suppported by their economy and the ratio of population, being distributed the number of
refugees
among the different developed
countries
because it is a humanitarian obligation and, in a long term, I think it is possible to integrate them into a new society if the effort is made in a global sense.
