The best way to increase road safety is to make car drivers retake their driving test every year. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people argue that the most effective way to elevate
safety
 on roads is to force
drivers
 to do their driving
test
 once a year. I totally disagree with these
individuals
 since people can pretend to be prudent
drivers
 on their
test
 day and
also
 there are other better ways to improve road
safety
. The main reason why I believe making car
drivers
 retake the
test
 every year is not the best solution for better
safety
 on roads is that they can fake to be cautious to pass the
test
. Most
individuals
 do not behave the same way on their
test
 as they do in real life, they prepare to overcome the
test
 and afterwards act extremely reckless driving over the influence of alcohol and other drugs, and drive over the speed limit.
As a result
, roads are filled with imprudent
drivers
 causing an immense amount of accidents every day.
In addition
, there are many other measures that can be implemented to boost road
safety
.
Firstly
, the government should invest in an awareness campaign to change the mindset of people who believe that speeding and drunk driving is harmless since studies show that most accidents are caused by these conditions.
Secondly
, strict laws should be applied for
individuals
 that do not respect the
traffic
 rules by giving them extremely expensive tickets so they do not commit the same mistake again. To illustrate, in Brazil the government invested millions in campaigns on social media about the importance of following
traffic
 laws and more than doubled the price of
traffic
 tickets a few years ago and it has shown remarkable progress. In conclusion, I reaffirm my opinion that forcing
drivers
 to redo their driving
test
 every year is not the most efficient solution to enhance
traffic
safety
 because
individuals
 can behave very differently on their
test
 day and in real situations.
Additionally
, there are different most effective solutions that can be applied
such
 as awareness campaigns and stricter laws.
