Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Different
people
have different views about speaking a new language
. In the modern world, people
need to go to other countries for many reasons. Where Language
barriers play a vital role in their life and people
have to use a foreign language
because of civil difficulties and practical issues. However
, I completely agree with this
argument. I will clarify this
statement before ending my essay.
On the one hand, sometimes, people
need to visit unknown States for several reasons such
as study purpose, treatment, travelling, or other intentions. In a foreign land, the local language
is the easiest mode of communication with native speakers. To start with, it would be difficult to communicate with residents in day to day life. For instance
, one of my friends, last
year he went to Portugal for a trip. But he doesn't
know the Portuguese language
. That's the time he faced a lot of problems. He didn't
communicate with local peoples. He just saw their activities but can't
speak anything.
In my opinion, not knowing the local language
makes it harder for immigrants to find a direction, read important notices, order food from a menu, talk to police or local members for help or manage a job. Without proper communication, any person can't
do anything. It is quite a natural subject in this
world. But after going abroad, if people
can speak a foreign language
they can get a lot of facilities. They can do all the necessary work easily. That is
why it is important to learn different languages for communication.
In conclusion, in my point of view, before migrating to another country, people
should try to learn a language
. That language
maximum people
can talk and understand in this
country.Submitted by minhaj2001 on
