Many museums charge for admission while others are free. Do you think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?
Presently, it is true that most
museums
still have an entrance fee for admission. Even though there are numerous benefits for this
, there are also
negative issues that need to be considered which will be further
discussed in the following essay.
On the one hand, there are various advantages to charging people
to enter museums
. The first
and most significant is to support the costs, especially in the maintenance of a large number of artefacts. The reason for this
is that each artefact has different ways for maintenance therefore
, museums
need experts to take care of the items, resulting in high cost. Moreover
, they need sufficient funds for securities as well due to protect the high-value artefacts. Apart from this
, another point is advancement in exhibitions. This
is because they spend money to improve facilities such
as providing translate devices for foreign tourists and electronic maps.
Despite the positive effect, some negative impacts need to be considered. The most essential is less attractive for tourists, especially young people
. This
is mainly due to the perspective of the new generation people
that most of them think museums
are boring places and not worth their fee. Moreover
, if there are fewer tourists visiting museums
, the funds from governments and charities may be cut off, resulting in the funds not covering all their costs as well.
In conclusion, while there are a variety of benefits for museums
, there are some drawbacks as well. If both people
and government realize the importance of history, then
they will give precedence to the museums
and support them in various ways. Therefore
, it is my belief that the overall benefits to children seem to outweigh the disadvantages.Submitted by ploy_41 on
