Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Some people argue that the extinction of particular species of
plants
and
animals
is the biggest challenge to our environment. Others,
however
, say the public should pay more attention to other environmental problems. People who focus on protecting wildlife and
plants
believe that if these species are extinct, the food chain of a certain ecosystem will be destroyed totally.
This
means that other
animals
are unable to find suitable foods, and
then
turn to hunt other species or leave their habitats.
For example
, a group of fifteen wild elephants in southwest China had to leave their home and went to the north in order to look for more food.
However
, people with different views think
animals
and
plants
are just one part of the whole environment. There are more dangerous situations that need to be fixed,
such
as climate change, water and air pollution, over-exploitation of resources. They are
also
the main reasons which cause the extinction of wildlife and
plants
.
For instance
, terrifying mountain fires happened in a huge part of California
last
year because carbon emission has brought a serious influence on the weather. It reduce the rainfall in that region in recent years. The forests have become so dry that get huge mountain fire easily. Human beings,
animals
and
plants
are all suffered from the climate change In my opinion, whether
plants
and
animals
or other natural resources, the environment have to be conserved as a whole because any damage to them will influent the whole ecosystem. The government and all individuals should work hard together to protect the world.
