Some people believe that they should be able to keep all money they earn and should not pay any tax to the state. To what extent do you agree and disagree?

It is true that many countries impose taxes on working people.
However
, a few individuals think that taxes should not be deducted from their incomes by governments. Personally, I completely disagree with
this
 view. There are two main reasons why I argue that money earners need to make contributions to their country through taxes.
Firstly
, governments are non-profit organizations, and they need sufficient financial supports to build infrastructures
such
 as roads, bridges, and electrical grids. These public constructions are used by every member of society, so it is reasonable to collect funds from the public.
Secondly
, taxation will help reduce the gap between rich and poor, which will have a positive impact on the development of society. Governments use tax revenue to invest in essential services
such
 as hospitals and schools, and these services are opened to the public, which can ensure everybody will have access to educational resources and healthcare systems, no matter they are poor or rich.
In contrast
, I believe a state without taxation cannot operate well. More specifically,
this
 state would have not enough capital to develop the public facilities and services;
hence
, the living conditions of residents are terrible.
For example
, if a region did not have the tax revenue to build up a water supply system, the households would suffer from a shortage of clear water.
Moreover
, the income disparity will grow dramatically because the social resources distribution is seriously unbalanced.
This
 means rich people can enjoy better educational opportunities or high-quality medical treatments, who can
further
 own more bright prospects.
Nevertheless
, poor people have no chance to break the cycle of poverty.
This
 kind of unhealthy development will lead to a rising crime rate and a disordered society. In conclusion, I strongly believe that taxation plays a dominant role in building an advanced country, so it is sensible to require income earners to pay tax.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
