some people think that sport teaches children how to compete, while others belive that children learn teamwork. discuss both views and give your opinion
Sports
is one of the most important subjects among children. Therefore
, while some think that sports
teach them how to compete, others
believe that they can learn teamwork. It is clear that although
both skills
are important for children to learn, adults need to support
the young to learn the importance of teamwork more than the competition.
The first
aspect to point out is that the young will develop their emotions and how to handle these feelings through sports
. For example
, some of the youths may be good at motivating themselves if their results are not expected. They may understand the importance of making efforts on the sports
in order to achieve their goals in sports
. However
, if there is too much competition, it could have a negative impact on the mental health of the young. Some might be obsessed with winning which is stressful for them. If they continued to think that they need to win all the time, this
mind would affect their behaviour in the future in society.
On the other hand
, sports
teach the young how to develop their skills
in working as a team. For instance
, when one plays basketball, they need to support
each other. They need to care about others
' physical and mental conditions as they play. They also
need to understand the characteristics of others
. This
will help them to improve their skills
in negotiation in order to achieve their goals because individuals need to accept others
. These skills
are vital for them in the future although
there might be conflicts among the youths. Therefore
, adults may need to support
them in how to solve their problems as they play sports
.
To conclude, learning how to compete and work as a team are beneficial for children. However
, there are more negative aspects of competing with others
in terms of mental health. Therefore
, it will be better for the young to focus on learning the importance of teamwork and adults should support
them to learn this
