In modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals for food or use animal products, for instance, clothing and medicines. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, there is a rising belief that utilising
animals
for food, clothes and
medicines
is not essential at all. In my opinion, I agree with the idea since it is possible for us to employ suitable substitutes and stop animal exploitation.
Firstly
, animal-based diets tend to increase the possibility of contracting some severe diseases,
although
human beings have eaten meat since ancient times.
For example
, having food high in fat can cause the overweight problem and high cholesterol may put a person at risk of a heart attack or high blood pressure. Vegetarians’ lifestyles have demonstrated that people can
also
improve their health and fitness by eating non-animal food.
Secondly
, it is unethical to raise and hurt
animals
for the purpose of producing clothes.
Animals
are not things but sentient beings, because they have feelings, emotions and a sense of pain like humans do. Keeping
animals
in small cages with terrible conditions and later removing their skins definitely violate animal rights which have been created to protect
animals
from cruelty and extinction. These behaviours should be banned and punished. Modern technology can provide us with alternative materials
Lastly
,
animals
served as a source of
medicines
in the past, but it is totally unnecessary in the present days owing to advanced technology. In fact, the majority of these
medicines
have no effect.
For instance
, rhino horns have no difference from people’s fingernails but they were considered as useful
medicines
to cure cancers. Listening to doctors’ advice is actually the proper treatment for cancers.
