Students should be taught academic knowledge so that they can pass exams, and skills such as cooking or dressing should not be taught. To what extent do you agree/disagree?
There is a widely-held belief that acquiring academic knowledge is sufficient for
students
in order to pass their exams, and there is no need to learn any skills
like cooking or dressing. I disagree with this
notion due to some grounds which will be explained in this

as cooking is an indispensable factor in every student’s life as they may need these competencies in their routine life later. For instance

may move out of their houses or leave their hometowns to continue education in other cities or countries. Although
their academic study is necessary for further
education, various skills
are vital for them to live their daily lives

, instructing different abilities to children from young age aids them in becoming independent in all aspects of their lives
when they become older. It means that provided practical skills
were being taught to students
and asked them to use the expertise in their routine lives
, they would tend to do all their tasks in their future lives
independently. Evidence can be seen in children attending schools where besides
educating academic courses, they focus precisely on teaching practical skills
to their students
. These students
are inclined to live without dependency on others, and they are also
more self-confident. Thus
, it can be said that learning theoretical knowledge and non-theoretical skills
by students
have equal value in their lives

Admittedly, it is believed that students
need to only focus on their academic studies without any distractions to be more successful in passing exams. In this
case, they can use much of their time to study adequately for their exams. However
, the significance of learning a variety of skills

as dressing in young students
or cooking in older ones is much higher than their exam results.
