Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Residing in a
country
whereby one
has to communicate in a different language
can result in substantial social issues apart from practical problems. I completely disagree with this
statement as I believe humans are created in such
a way to thrive despite the many hurdles of life and being exposed to a new language
adds to the ability to pick up a new ability which is important later in life. In the subsequent paragraphs, i
will elucidate on why it is so.
Change the capitalization
I
Firstly
, people
entice new people
. Their uniqueness somewhat inspires others to want to communicate and understand each other further
. Thus
, they develop new ways of integrating with each other despite the differences in language
. Some people
use drawings, while others signal another through sign language
. Although
it may seem a little frustrating in the beginning, people
are forced to accept these complexities of communication and after some time, they learn the basics of the language
. Similarly
, technology has also
made communicating much easier through applications such
as Google translator learning a new language
possible through videos posted on Youtube.
Secondly
, acquiring the ability to speak more than one
language
is fundamental especially when it comes to applying for a job. Employers are impressed with resumes of an individual who are able to communicate in more languages. Being exposed to a foreign language
in a foreign country
enables one
to learn the language
of that country
with ease. This
will be worthwhile for one
even after returning back to his homeland as the knowledge stays with him permanently and he will be able to get acquainted with foreigners from the same country
he was previously in easily. For example
, a student who studied in Russia would have no problems communicating with a Russian tourist in his country
or any Eastern European nation that spoke a similar language
.
In conclusion, despite being dumbfounded and not being able to integrate into society easily due to the language
differences ,in the beginning, I believe that these complications can be eliminated through learning and practice. Social problems can be eliminated through accepting and respecting cultural and traditional differences and language
is not a barrier to this
