More and more companies are allowing employees to work at home. Do you think this is a positive or negative development.

There are a number of companies that let their employees work from
home
.
This
could be both beneficial and unrewarding development for workers and employers. Some
people
are more relaxed sitting in their own
home
because it is an environment that they are familiar and comfortable with. There are advantages for
people
working from
home
,
such
as wearing comfortable clothes, taking breaks for food and coffee more often. There is a financial aspect to consider. With remote working, there is no need for expensive office rentals in business centres.
For instance
, in ,Serbia many employers pay internet and electricity bills for their remote working employees. For some, it is not as stressful as it is working from the office, where they are constantly supervised by the management. Some
people
feel better and more productive when they are not being monitored constantly.
Additionally
, it is less time consuming as well. Many working
people
commute to work during the working week by car, bus or train.
For example
, one case study showed that ordinary commuter from Belgrade loses two hours going to and going back from their office. The negative aspect of working from
home
should be discussed
also
. Some
people
feel trapped in their homes and cannot perform. There is no face to face social interaction with colleagues or chatting during the coffee or the lunch break. For family
people
, working from
home
could be difficult because of children, pets, noisy neighbours or internet problems. In conclusion, I think that working from
home
is more beneficial for employers and employees. If we take the financial aspect, relaxed atmosphere and productivity levels into consideration, remote working is definitively the one to go with. My prediction is that working from
home
will only gain popularity as time goes by.
