Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measure are required. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The provided charts give information about the percentage of expenses people use for

 and services including housing, clothing, entertainment, food, travel/transport, and luxury

, in Europe in the two different years, 1958 and 2008. It is noticeable that there are significant changes in the cost of all categories after 50 years, apart from clothing Looking at the pie chart in 1985, the amount of money which is used for food was highest, followed by expenditures on housing and clothing, with 22% and 18% respectively. Spending on Entertainment made up 13%, the figure for Travel/transport was 8% and the lowest proportion was seen on luxury
goods
. After a fifty-year period, the percentage of housing replaced that of food to become the aspect that had the biggest portion of spending with 32%. The expenditure on Travel/transport and luxury
goods
 considerably increased, by about 10% while that of entertainment decreased sharply from 13% to 6%.
