you have recently read an article in the newspaper about someone you know personally. you found that some information is wrong. write a letter to the editor to inform him about it. - what the article is about - what the error is - what you expect the editor to do
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Naomi Umami. I am writing
this
letter to you regarding the recent article
about Mr John
Urban on March 1st, in the "Kyoto
Times".
The article
states that My John
Urban has received a City of Kyoto
Literature Award
for his book "Life in Japan" and he was the youngest winner in the history of that award
. It also
gives a brief biography of Mr John
's life. The biography starts with his birth in Kyoto
and continues to his studies and works.
I would like to point out an error in your paper. Documentation shows that Mr John
was born in January 1985. In fact, his birth year is 1987. I know that because we grew up together in the same area of the city and learned at the same elementary school. Since the winner of the City of Kyoto
Literature Award
last
year was the person who was born in 1986, this
mistake in your article
may bring the readers to wonder about his prize as the youngest winner in the award
's history.
This
is a serious concern for him and his fans, therefore
, I would like to request you to write an article
accepting this
error and confirm his birth year and age in the next
publishment.
I thank you in advance. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming publishment.
Yours faithfully,
Naomi UmamiSubmitted by yyurienn on
