Some people think that because of email, social media and telephones, communication among people is less personal now than it used to be. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays people believe that new technology development
such
as Facebook, mobile phones, and WhatsApp changed the
way
that society communicates. They understand that our
communication
became less personal than it used to be in the past. I consider that even though, we have more resources to be communicated in a faster and long-distance
way
, these facilities are generating some negative effects on our families and among our friends and relationships. In
this
essay, I am going to explain the reasons why I think the
way
of human
communication
is becoming less personal than it was some decades ago.
Firstly
, the biggest impact can be seen among teenagers who were born already in the digital era, who consider that the only
way
to communicate and be listened to is through social media. They prefer to spend long hours chatting and posting on Instagram and Twitter rather than have a conversation face to face with their family.
Consequently
, these attitudes create a big distance between them and their family, who often are not aware of adolescents’ feelings and thoughts.
Secondly
, it can be observed on WhatsApp and Facebook groups a loss of identity. Members prefer to post on the apps different kinds of messages rather than talk directly to the person from whom they are looking for a response or attitude. These make that the message spread fast and be reached by a big audience but does not mean
that is
going to be understood and read by the right audience, person, or group.
For instance
, a message which should be sent directly to someone nowadays is sent to a group, and the sender does not have the certainty
that is
going to get one day

response.
Furthermore
, in the past, the
communication
between humans took place individually or in small groups, in the actuality,
this
is happening in a massive
way
which makes our
communication
less personal In consequence, even though the invention of social media and phones meant a dramatic revolution to our society and relations, the price that we have to pay is the loss of immediacy and real contact with the people who surround us.
