In recent years, more and more people are choosing to read e books rather than paper books. Do the advantages outweigh disadvantages?

Nowadays,
ebooks
have known a huge success among
people
that they become before paper
books
when purchasing a book. Even though
ebooks
may have some cons but I believe that their benefits outweigh them. Many
people
still prefer being able to hold a traditional book in their hands that could
last
for decades if it is well cared for, contrasting with
ebooks
that have an unreliable life span.
Besides
, it is more enjoyable to have a shelf filled with a bunch of
books
that can be read over and over again with no distraction.
For instance
, a library with hundreds of paper
books
can create an atmosphere of easiness, focus, and a desire to study for most students compared to screens that have many distractions.
Therefore
, some individuals still hold to traditional
books
;
nevertheless
, there are many good reasons why more and more
people
are opting for
ebooks
instead
. Digital
books
have become a new trend adopted by many
people
because they are more convenient when it comes to carrying them, unlike paper
books
.
In other words
, you can have an unprecedented amount of different book genres, all in one device that can be carried anytime and anywhere.
For example
, a medical student will prefer to have his laptop where all the needed supports are purchased online or downloaded
instead
of carrying heavy
books
.
Moreover
,
ebooks
are deemed eco-friendly since no trees are required in order to create them.
This
is obviously an option that reduces both costs and environmental impact.
Consequently
, readers, particularly young adults, are drawn to
this
technology. In conclusion, while many
people
embraced the ebook over the old way as a new trend; I indeed believe that looking at the limitless advantages
ebooks
provide to their users, from being convenient to being an eco-friendly option, it is understandable that more individuals are finding them appealing.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
