Some people suggest that international news should study as a subject in secondary school. However, others say that it will be a waste of valuable school time. Discuss both views and give your opinion

In the globalization era,
news
reading by young people has been diachronically
one
of the major issues.
One
particularly controversial aspect is the study of global tidings via the secondary curriculum, with
one
side maintaining that it could be extremely beneficial while the other supports that it would be time-consuming without seeing any point of interest. Both sides will discuss in
this
essay and I will provide my opinion on the importance of a lesson, which examines the world's headlines. On the
one
hand, it could be argued that studying the
news
can be advantageous in improving creating critical thinking. Indeed, we live in a period of time, in which readers have been transformed into
news
consumers, due to the rapid and massive expansion of information. Definitely, young
students
need to be guided so as to become sceptical about the presented topics and recognise the really crucial matters of the planet.
For instance
, research indicates that fake
news
is transferred rapidly via social media sharing of 89% of teenagers' accounts.
On the other hand
, opponents of
this
matter draw to the attention that
such
a study in the school program requires a lot of time without obvious advantages. Admittedly, secondary
students
are already extremely busy with their duties and
one
more lesson would be affected their free time.
This
can be illustrated by the educational experts, who suggest that a curriculum program should be exclusively based on traditional lessons, sports and art classes. All things are considered,
although
studying the global topics could be helpful for teenage
students
in critical thinking;
however
, I strongly believe that
such
a lesson has minor benefits compared to the traditional classes. Since these skills could be later developed in university studies,
students
in secondary education have to establish their basic knowledge and raise their talents in sports and art.
