The numbers of children that read books for fun has dropped dramatically in recent years. What are the reasons for this? How can we encourage children to read more?

Recently there is a figure showing that the time heir is spending on reading has been decreasing.
This
may be because of technological advancement, and the time that kids stay alone has increased. Nowadays the internet provides a wide range of educating materials with attractive media content,
such
as video and music, some of them may even consist of interactive elements to get the readers' attention,
this
is definitely more interesting than reading papers, and so the youth is rather to concentrate on their electronic devices.
For example
, my nephew at his pre-school age has been loving to watch Disney English teaching material, rather than reading. The busy schedule of parents is another reason to encourage children to focus on mobile, it is usually seeing some adults passing digital devices to young ones to stop their restless actions, so the grown-up and enjoy a quiet and private time for a little while.
For instance
, my nephew is either running around or focusing on watching his videos, so my sister would rather give him the mobile to gain personal moments in return. In order to change
this
situation, adults should become role models leading the child to read, using books as teaching material
instead
of mobiles, and creating a joint moment together to let the young people feel the happiness from reading, and change their habits of playing digital devices to holding books.
This
can
then
improve the situation and children can find some fun in reading again. To conclude, no matter whether
this
is a book or a computer, it is about interesting content to attract the children's attention, parents can correct the permanence to encourage kids to read books again.
