Dear Sir, I am writing
this
letter to grant my leave of absence from the office for the upcoming week from the 1st of July to the 10th of July. I have decided to accompany my parents who are residing in my hometown Ambala city and want to spend some quality time with them. Earlier I was unable to take some time off work due to the hectic office schedule and needed to work continuously in order to accomplish my targets. At
this
time, I have only limited tasks to perform,
therefore
, I want to utilize
this
period in order to meet my parents.
Additionally
, It will make me feel relaxed after busy office hours.
In addition
to it,Amar has agreed to take care of urgent work that requires immediate action.
Moreover
, She
also
agreed to send all the financial reports to higher authorities as well.
However
, I will be available on the call if any concern needs my attention. I would really appreciate it if you could approve my leave application. Looking forward to hearing from your side. Thanks. Yours Faithfully, Kuljeet Kaur.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
