Too much attention is given to headline-grabbing disasters like earthquakes and floods. Government should concentrate their resources on educating people about the risk they face nearer to home, which can cost far more lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion.

Nowadays,
news
headline-grabbing
disasters
more and more make
people
feel unsafe
instead
of bringing the actual headline that educated the
people
. Headline
news
such
as earthquakes and floods bring the scared among the residents,
moreover
, there is no education from the
government
to bring understanding to the middle of civilians. I totally agree that educating
people
to understand the risk they
face
nearer to home must do,
furthermore
, it will help to reduce fatality during
disasters
.
Firstly
, the
news
companies always bring fascinating headlines during
disasters
on purpose to make it more interesting. In some cases, the
news
isn't credible at all,
such
as the picture from another case of disaster. It will take more attention from the readers,
however
, the point of view will be different from those who
face
the
disasters
directly.
For example
, for citizens under mount Merapi when the mount erupted in 2012, the
news
brings the eruption is very dangerous and there is no safe place
instead
so moved to downtown Yogyakarta. Some of the
people
were evacuated to the city , while another choose to stay because feel hopeless.
On the other hand
, there is no education on the way to evacuate the civilians. In
this
case, the
government
must take charge to give the citizens an understanding of the danger.
For instance
, to know the sign of
disasters
and
also
the effect after them.
This
education must be understood by the
people
, and they will know the path to the evacuation. There is a lot of induction in Indonesia, called as Ring of Fire, by mean, Indonesia will always
face
natural
disasters
till the end. In
this
condition, the citizens must force the
government
to educate them and save more lives. In conclusion, the
news
companies will always make interesting headline-grabbing
disasters
, in a way to increase the reader.
However
, Indonesian civilians must be educated by the
government
and understand how to
face
disasters
instead
to believe in the
news
directly.
