In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry. Why is that the case? What can be done about this problem?

In the
last
few decades, the agriculture industry has made huge progress and many developments.
However
, recent research has shown that still, the majority of people around the globe are suffering from hunger.
This
essay will attempt to explore the reasons and solutions to
this
issue
.
To begin
with, the
first
important reason is the economic inequality among world nations and even with a country among various classes of society. It is common knowledge that the average wage is not equal for all the employees in most countries.
As a result
, for the lower class of society who are hard workers, it is barely possible to afford a normal meal for their family despite how hard they work.
For instance
, according to the new statements from UNICEF, 75% of workers in India are underpaid and forced to work for longer hours. The simple solution for
this
matter could be strict labour law enforcement. The
second
major reason for people not being able to get sufficient
food
is an increase in the unemployment rates in many countries. With the Covid pandemic running rampant, people will have more difficulties finding jobs so, there will be less income for most folks (families).
This
will result in having insufficient funds for
food
. There is another reason behind the hunger
issue
, which is the inflation in commodity prices.
For example
, since the Ukraine war ,Russia, as the main exporter of gas to Europe, stopped all their export resulting in massive increases in prices for most of the utilities and daily needs. To wrap it up, there is no doubt that we are living on a rich planet so,
food
is a human right and everybody should be able to have access to
food
. A wise person once said: “hunger is not an
issue
of charity, it is an
issue
of justice”.
