Dear Sir or Madam, Hope all is well with you. I am writing
this
letter to inform you that I am interested in the advertisement that you posted in our local newspaper with regard to doing a voluntary part-time job in the museum. Please be informed that I really love to help even in a small way in our society,
thus
, I believe applying for
this
kind of stuff is surely a big help. I have completed my bachelor's degree in accounting, and currently working as an accountant in the city's accounting firm. Being in
this
profession enables me to help the museum with bookkeeping. You do not need to worry in terms of financial records because I am an expert in that aspect.
Moreover
, I can assist you in filing some books, or/and documents, if it is needed. I am available on weekend, Saturday to Sunday, from 10 to 2 in the afternoon. I appreciated it if you could consider me. Should you have concerns regarding my application, please do let me know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jenny Cornejo

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
