You have a full time job and are also doing a part time evening course. You now find that you can not continue the course. Write a letter to your tutor. In your letter, describe the situation explain why you cannot continue at this time say what action you would like to take

Hello sir, I am writing
this
letter to inform you that I am afraid that I will be unable to continue the course which I am pursuing at your institution. As I am working as a full-time employee, an unimaginable situation has arisen in the work which requires me to work overtime. I have been deployed in the production project which has to be completed within two weeks duration due to the financial year-end.
Also
, as mentioned owing to my overtime work which clashes with my evening class;
therefore
, I have to take the hard decision, so I have chosen to take a break from the course. I would like to take
this
course from
next
season onwards which falls in the spring season.
Otherwise
, if
this
session can be attended during weekends , I would be delighted else I definitely have to discontinue and continue on
next
season. I look forward to hearing your response to the above-mentioned situation. Yours Sincerely, Nancy William

Use cohesive linking words accurately and appropriately

Linking words are very important in your essay.

To score effectively on your IELTS exam, you should make an effort to implement short concise sentences coupled with linking words.

Almost every sentence in your essay should have a linking word of some sort.

In fact, the only sentences that can omit linking words are your background sentence and thesis.

Linking word examples:

  • firstly
  • secondly
  • thirdly
  • in additional
  • moreover
  • also
  • for example
  • for instance
