There is no doubt that
plastic
is harming the
environment
. In
this
essay, I will explore the impact of
plastic
on the
environment
and suggest solutions the
government
and
individuals
can take to solve them. One damage that
plastic
causes to the
environment
are to
rivers
.
Rivers
are being polluted with
plastics
, affecting the water quality and the marine
life
in the
rivers
.
Plastics
often release microplastics and chemicals which can enter the fish and cause its health to degrade.
For example
, the Great Barrier Reef has vast aquatic
life
;
however
, the recent pollution from
plastic
has caused a decline in marine
life
. The
government
should strictly monitor the
rivers
and introduce fines to solve
this
problem.
In addition
, the
government
should introduce alternatives to
plastic
, encouraging people to use fewer
plastics
.
Furthermore
,
individuals
can raise awareness and educate each other about the negative consequences of
plastic
.
As a result
, there will be an increase in aquatic
life
and an improvement in water quality. The
government
can take steps
such
as introducing facilities that can recycle
plastic
, and
individuals
can do startups that can recycle
plastic
efficiently;
this
would result in fewer
plastics
burned, reducing the rate of global warming. In conclusion, using
plastic
can harm the
environment
,
such
as
rivers
and aquatic
life
and accelerate global warming;
however
, if the
government
introduces alternative to
plastic
and monitor the
rivers
and
individuals
raise public awareness
then
it is possible to reverse the damage of
plastics
to the
environment
.
