You recently stayed at your friend’s place, to look after the house while he/she is away. You accidentally damaged something in his/her house. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter, you should: • describe what the accident was • explain when it happened • suggest how the damage can be fixed.

Dear Jude, Hope you are doing well. I am writing to let you know about an incident that happened at your place.
To begin
with, I enjoyed my stay at your townhouse, the swimming pool and fireplace just took my breath away, thanks for making all the arrangements to make my stay joyful.
However
, I am sorry, I accidentally damaged a toilet flush located in the upper room . I tripped over the mat, slipped and got hold of the flush nob for support
as a result
of which it got detached. I can really get clumsy at times and you would certainly agree since you know me from my college days. I looked for some plumbers on the phone directory near your area and noted those for you on your study table. Please do have a look once you are back from your
next
trip. Hope to see you soon. Warm wishes, Tiera

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
