Write a letter to your a property estate agency
I am writing to request assistance to find suitable accommodation as we are relocating to Lusaka in three months’ time.
We are a family of four
that is
my parents, a brother aged 10 and our helper. We are known as the Benhura family and we are originally from Zimbabwe.
I will be grateful if you can find us a four-bedroom property with at least two bathrooms, a well-furnished open-plan kitchen and a spacious dining area. Linking Words
In addition
, the house should be fenced preferable with an electric fence to make it more secure. Apart from Linking Words
this
, there should be a borehole to cater for any disruptions in the water supply. We are ready to pay $1,000 per calendar month which should Linking Words
also
cater for bills.
The house should be located in the heart of Lusaka where there is a good transport system. It would be great if there is a school nearby to accommodate my brother.
Please feel free to contact me Linking Words

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
