YOU RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE PLANS TO BUILD A NEW AIRPORT IN YOUR AREA AND YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH IT. WRITE A LETTER TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY. IN YOUR LETTER, - SAY HOW YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PLANS - EXPLAIN WHAT PROBLEMS YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD WILL FACE - SUGGEST SOME POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THOSE PROBLEMS.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing in regard to the new
airport
planned to be built in Ota Community of Enugu State. I came across the Guardian Newspaper published on the 2nd of October, where there was an outline about the
airport
project due for
next
year. What drew my attention to it, was the backlash written underneath it. Currently, the community is a tight-knitted neighbourhood with narrow roads.
Therefore
, establishing the
airport
here will cause a lot of issues,
such
as busy roads, and a noisy environment
as a result
of planes landing and taking off.
In addition
,
this
might lead to an increase in road accidents due to small roads.
However
, I am suggesting that the
airport
should be built between Ota and the nearby town, which is Oguta. There is massive space which can house an
airport
comfortably without disturbing the neighbourhood.
Furthermore
, the government should expand the road network of both communities,
this
will help combat accidents in future, and
also
mount street lights so as to control traffic. I earnestly hope that these problems enlisted will be looked into, at the
next
Council meeting. Yours faithfully, Chika Ime.
