All cars that burns fossil fuels should be banned and electric car should replace them. Do you agree or disagree
There is an opinion that automobiles powered by
electricity
should substitute gasoline using vehicles. As much as I agree with the idea of scrapping gasoline cars
because it pollutes the environment, I also
believe that electric cars
are not the best option in some countries of the world.
Although
, when it comes to cost-effectiveness, cars
that use fuels such
as petrol, diesel and gas are cheaper. However
, during operation, a car that burns fossil fuels emits smoke which contains carbon dioxide and that is
due to the incomplete combustion that occurs while the engine is running. Therefore
when this
substance is released into the atmosphere it causes pollution, thus
degrading the natural content of the environment . Furthermore
, the emission contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer which in turn causes increased UV radiation and this
is detrimental to human health, causing diseases such
as cataracts, some types of skin cancer etc.
On the other hand
, cars
that operate with the usage of electricity
are not an option to be considered in some countries where electricity
is expensive, unstable or even not available. For example
some western parts of Africa like Nigeria. Few citizens of this
country who are financially buoyant use electricity
-generating plants due to the instability of the power supply while others who cannot afford to have a generator solely depend on the unstable electricity
. In this
case, it will be difficult to own an electric car when the means to recharge it is not certain.
In conclusion, I think that both fossil fuels burning cars
and electric cars
can co-exist, however
, the consumption will then
depend on the individual's financial capacity and also
the country it is to be used.Submitted by peteromisakin on
