Many people like eating unhealthy food even though they know it's bad for them. Why is this the case? What effective ways can be taken to improve people's healthy eating habits?

In the modern world, there is an increasing number of
people
who consume unhealthy foodstuff on a frequent base, even though they are well aware that it’s harmful to them.
This
phenomenon is particularly common among the younger generations, and affect them the most as their body is still developing. The main reason, I believe, is due to convenience. Nowadays many
people
have a high level of stress in their work, which leads to a tendency of pursuing simplicity. For them, time values the most. Healthy
food
in general, requires a lot of effort to prepare, whereas processed
food
, can be bought everywhere with ease at a reasonable price. The
second
cause is because of their taste. In order to attract more customers, fast
food
producers tried their best to make the
food
delicious, which makes them irresistible to many
people
, especially kids, whose self-discipline is not as good as adults. Certain measures must be taken to change public eating habits.
For example
, the government should restrict the number of advertisements for unhealthy
food
, while increasing that of healthy ones.
This
could reduce the amount of fast
food
consumption driven by the stimulation of the advertisements, as well as increase public awareness of healthy
food
and gradually change their original eating habits.
Furthermore
, advertisements aimed at children should even be banned completely.
In addition
, the government could
also
provide free healthy
food
in schools and set up classes to teach children knowledge about health. In general, it is hard for
people
to change their eating habits on their own, so government and schools need to lend a helping hand in order to improve the situation.
