Dear Mr Walia,
I am one of the residents of Shivalik Vihar, Mumbai. I am writing
this
letter to print my article in your newspaper regarding the plan of the local council to sell a park in my neighbourhood to a private institution. The whole area is dissatisfied with the decision of the council as the mentioned park is widely used by our people.
It is the only one in our area and we cannot imagine our routines without it. All the residents living within a distance of 5 km come here to relax and chit-chat with their friends. The place is used both in the mornings as well as in the evenings. Older people do yoga and morning walks while youngsters spend their leisure time playing various sports such
as badminton, football etc.
Therefore
, I request the state please drop the idea and retain the custody of the community garden with the local body itself. Otherwise
, all the folks nearby will take immediate action and go to court for this
purpose.
