Teenage offenders should be treated in the same way as adult criminals. Do you agree?

Crimes of any degree should not be tolerated, and the perpetrators should be punished. But, when it comes to teenage offenders, I disagree with the theory that they should be given the same treatment as adult criminals. While age is a number that generally defines a person's cognitive ability,

ability to associate reasoning with good and bad grows with the understanding of the ways of the world through exposure.

, teenage criminals have their whole life in front of them. It was proven in a study conducted at Harward medical school that hope is a very powerful driving force for felons.

, if a teen offender is given a conditional sentence by the court if he/she performs well in studies and shows improvement in psychological analysis, there is a chance of pre-release from the correctional facility;

there is a high degree of possibility that they will perform well. While the existing system of dealing with juveniles in the court of law is functioning quite well, it is required to be updated.

, a young person who has committed a heinous crime should not be treated with the same degree of punishment as a petty thief. Teenage is scientifically proven to be a challenging phase of life with rapid hormonal changes occurring in the body and the young mind dealing with peer pressure and the expectations of society and family. There is a lot to adapt. If they are given the same treatment as adults, their chances of leading a normal life will reduce.
