Marina has just started a new course at college and her tutor has asked her to write him a letter telling him something about herself.
Dear John,
Hope you had a great summer with family and friends. I am excited to start taking Calculus
this
semester and glad to find out you are my tutor as my friend Lily was your student last
year and she spoke highly of you.
Here is something about myself. I grew up in Shanghai. My parents are still back home with my younger sister who is attending high school. I moved to Australia last
year by myself to attend Sydney University. I like science very much and picked Physics as my major. I grew up drawing as a hobby, therefore
I pick Art as my minor. I find studying both subjects together adds balance to my student life. After school, I like watching movies and hiking. Sydney is such
a gorgeous place with varieties of activities.
I think making an introduction was a brilliant idea. May I get to know you a bit more before we start our tutoring session? Looking forward to meeting you in person soon!
Best regards,
