The diagram below shows the life cycle of a species of large fish called salmon
The diagram illustrates the life span of a huge size of fish named the
salmon
. Overall
, salmon
's life cycle is divided into 4 different stages, from laying eggs to adult salmon
.
To begin
with, from the illustration, it is clearly seen that a salmon
's life span is about a decade. In the first stage, adult salmon
migrate to the river from the open sea and lay down their eggs under small stones of the river.Subsequently
, the fry shifts to the upper estuary where the water current is comparatively slow and stays there for approximately 5 to 6 months. In the second stage, they start to move to the lower part of the estuary where the water current is really hasty and the fry takes around four years to become smolt, by these 4 years of activity they become 12-15cm in length.
Therefore
, the smolt migrates to the open sea from the estuary and lives for almost 5 years where its length becomes 70-76cm.
To summarise, in the whole period of a lifetime, salmon
says most of the time in the ocean and in the stream.Submitted by Shamim Hossen on
