The pie charts below show how dangerous waste products are dealt with in three countries.
The pie charts compare the different ways of handling harmful
waste
in the
Republic
of
Korea
,
Sweden
and the United Kingdom.
It is clear that
in the
Republic
of ,
Korea
hazardous wastes are mainly recycled,
while
in
Sweden
and the ,UK they are more likely to be buried. Burning the
waste
is the
last
choice for the three above-mentioned countries to deal with these
waste
products. In both the
Republic
of
Korea
and
Sweden
, the methods of
waste
disposal are the same, just differing in proportion. Recycling is the first option in the
Republic
of
Korea
, with a figure of about 70%, followed by 22% being buried underground and 9% being burnt by fire.
However
, more than half of the dangerous wastes in
Sweden
are dealt with under the soil, and only a quarter of them are reused. In the UK, there are more ways to be seen. By far the biggest amount of
waste
is buried, around 80% and a mere 2% is destroyed by fire. Other methods,
such
as chemical treatment, or dumping the
waste
into the sea,
also
play a non-negligible role in
waste
disposal, with a percentage of 8% each.
