Your local newspaper wants to reward people who have contributed a lot to the community. Write a letter to the newspaper. In your letter: suggest someone who deserves the reward mention what they have done to help the community say what reward you would like to give this person Write about 150 words. You do not need to write addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear…

Dear Sir or Madam, I hope
this
letter finds you well. My name is Serag and I live on Saad El din Wahba street. I am writing
this
letter in connection with rewarding forgotten figures in our town. I think that doctor Habib deserves
this
reward. Dr Habib is one of the few who make their examination free for the poor. He is now in his seventies and has not taken any reward for his services yet.
Moreover
, I think he does not wait for highly cost rewards or money. He would like to know that his name will be memorized for good intentions. So, I suggest you write a special article for your newspaper, and it requires a well-detailed investigation of his history and services. Please I would like to help if you need any information about dr Habib. Yours faithfully, Serag Mounir

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
