Plastic bags, plastic bottles and plastic packaging are bad for the environment. what damage does plastics do to the environment? What can be done by government and individuals to solve this problem?

The world we live in has changed rapidly and the
environment
has been polluted badly.
In addition
to the different kinds of pollution we have, plastics contribute a lot to damaging the
environment
. And, the worry is that we cannot escape from it easily since it is available to us in so many shapes like
plastic
bags, bottles, and packages. The reason why
plastic
is so common is that it is easy to make and can be transformed into almost anything, from toys to utensils, furniture to foods packagings, and it can be used everywhere.
This
is alarming since we have not yet found any effective way to recycle it.
Consequently
, we end up dumping it in huge quantities in the oceans.
Although
plastic
seems a very convenient material, it has so many drawbacks and hazardous threats to the
environment
that we do not realize.
Firstly
, since
plastic
is easily available, individuals do not bother to discard them properly like glass or metal.
Hence
, these
plastic
commodities end up on roads. And from there, they go straight into the oceans polluting marine life and making the water less consumable for everyone.
Secondly
, if we try to burn it down
then
it would emit so much smoke and carbon dioxide
along with
other impurities, that it will pollute the air and make it more deadly.
This
is why
plastic
is, without any doubt, absolutely not good for the
environment
. We should all make efforts in finding a solution to
this
problem. And for
this
, both individual and government-level efforts are required. As an individual, we can think of not using a lot of
plastic
products and using recyclable materials.
For example
, we all use
plastic
water bottles every day but what if stop using
plastic
containers and try steel thermos
instead
?
Moreover
, what if do not throw plastics away on roads but recycle them
instead
?
Similarly
, there can be so many other measures we can take as individuals.
In addition
to
this
, governments can
also
impose restrictions on industries to produce lesser
plastic
and think of alternative materials. All of
this
cannot be achieved swiftly, but
this
way, we can at least start making some progress in the right direction and prolong the life of our planet Earth.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
