You use public trasnport and have been facing issues. Write a letter to the public transport autoroties. In your letter include: why public transport is important to you what problem you face suggest what can be done to improve public transport
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing
this
letter to express my dissatisfaction with the bus service that I and the general public is using for our work. As my work is out of Kitchener, I have to take the bus on a daily bases in order to go to work. It is totally regretted to say that the condition of the buses
is quite unsanitary and bad.
These public buses
are not anymore suitable for the general public because most of the bus' windows have built up a yellowish layer, as it seems that these were not even clean for decades. Owing to this
, it is also
very hard to see outside of the buses
. In addition
to this
, the seats of these buses
have a foul smell, which makes commuters not sit on these seats.
In order to improve the condition of these buses
you should introduce some new sits and also
clean the windows twice a week. I would really appreciate it if you could resolve such
issues at your earliest convenience, otherwise
, I will not be left but to take some legal action against your public transport service.
Yours faithfully.

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
