WRITING TASK 1 You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You want to sell some of your furniture. You think a friend of yours might like to buy it from you. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter • explain why you are selling • describe the furniture • suggest a date when your friend can come and see the furniture Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear ...............,
Dear Mike,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to check whether you would like to buy some of my furniture as I plan to put them on sale.
I just got a new job with ABC company, which is located on G567 Road, as you know where I am living now is quite far from the office, so to save time, I've decided to rent a new apartment nearby.
Firstly
, it is pretty small so I don't think it has the capacity of all my current furniture which is big. In addition
, I do not want to spend too much on moving, therefore
, I'd like to sell some. I know you like my sofa very much so I want to check with you first.
As you know, it is the black one in my living room. It cost a fortune when I bought it last
year from IKEA. It still looks pretty new. As I remember, you mentioned last
time you would like to buy the same one for your new house, but I think it's out of stock now. So, please take into account whether you want it. If yes, I would give you a good discount. Furthermore
, I want to sell my bed, chairs, and table as well.
I hope you could visit this
Sunday so that you can check them out and further
consider whether you'd like to take some. I am sure you will not be back with empty hands.
I cannot wait for you to come. If any questions you may have, please feel free to call me.
Take care,
Best regards,
